**Special note** The Cervantes Institute is currently in the process of adapting its examination levels to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. For the moment, the only exams that exist are for levels B1 (intermediate), B2 (upper intermediate) and C2 (mastery). In 2009 and 2010 new exams will be introduced corresponding to levels A1 (beginner), A2 (elementary) and C1 (advanced), starting with the introduction of a level A1 exam in May 2009. As new levels are formally incorporated our associate schools will offer new courses specifically adapted to exam preparation for those levels.
